Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

The cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) team and surgical services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet any cardiac or vascular emergency.

The Cath Lab offers the most current technology for cardiac and vascular interventions including a state-of-the-art cardiovascular x-ray system that provides crisp visualization of small details for complicated interventions at lower radiation doses.

Routine cardiovascular testing can be scheduled in a manner convenient for the patient, including weekends for most services.

Traditional cardiac catheterization procedures are done by a femoral approach, in which a physician accesses the heart through the femoral artery in the groin to diagnose or treat heart problems. Duke Regional now offers a different approach through the radial artery in the wrist. Click here to read more about this technique.
